We are happy to announce The Reggae Rise Up Festival brand is extending its positive vibes to Tampa, Florida. The sixth episode of the continuing festival series will be a great addition to one of the largest reggae markets in the country. With the first five events producing a combined attendance of more than 40 thousand people we expect upwards of 10 thousand music enthusiasts in attendance. More than just a reggae festival, Reggae Rise Up is also a celebration of the diverse and dynamic culture of each community we visit. Featuring cuisines from local eateries, local brews, and showcasing local artists to round out the experience.
Past performing artists have included Slighty Stoopid, Matisyahu, Stephen Marley, The Expendalbes, Dirty Heads, Pepper, Collie Buddz, Tribal Seeds, J Boog, Eek A Mouse, Easy Star All-Stars, Fortunate Youth, Through The Roots and many more!
In September we will feature one of our strongest line ups yet with headliners: Rebelution, noted for their eclectic mix of rock, world, and reggae from Santa Barbara, CA. Rebelution returns to Tampa following two sold out back to back events at Jannus Live; Steel Pulse, Grammy award-winning reggae band have been true to their roots for over 35 years. One of Bob Marley's favorites, the band has maintained a sense of fierce integrity as it strives to get the message of love and justice across to all people; Collie Buddz, a Bermuda native brings an energy to the stage that is unparalleled. Providing a broad array of music that spreads over multiple genres.
Additional performers include: Zion I Crew, Ballyhoo!, Rootz Underground, Los Rakas, Stranger
One massive stage with Reggae music jamming throughout the venue is not all that the Reggae Rise Up Festival has to offer. A vendor village we host some of the most unique food trucks in the state of Florida. Coors Light will be sponsoring the event for attendees to enjoy a cold brew while on site. Local artists and vendors will be attending to give fans a connection to local businesses. Our VIP area will feature a amazing view of the stage and cocktails for attendees to experience the festival from a different angle.
To support our ambitions for this year’s festival we have aligned ourselves with local industry leaders Tampa Sports Authority and Event Live, to bring the biggest and best Reggae Festival to Florida. Additionally, Reggae Rise Up has teamed up with The Teal Recovery Project, a nonprofit organization, which focuses on fundraising, educating, and empowering women battling cervical cancer.
