At a time when UK festivals are announcing some of the biggest line-ups in the world, a festival that has always supported a range of alternative music is Boomtown Fair. Boomtowns stages pump out everything from House to Garage to Punk to Gypsy to Reggae. Last year saw headliner Stephen Ragga Marley alongside Alborosie, Flogging Molly and Gogol Bordello.
This year Boomtown is bigger and better with a Line up that makes a real statement about music. Boomtown aren’t afraid to book who they want to perform or who is on the up and don’t cave to large agencies pushing the same 15 artists for a ‘good price’. This years line up is across the board.
The Lions Den will be roaring this year with Damian Jr Gong Marley alongside Nutty boys Madness. The fine balance of Reggae and Ska runs throughout the stage with UK legends Bad Manners, Jamaican self confessed Dancehall baby Tarrus Riley with one of Jamaica’s finest Rappers Kabaka Pyramid. The Selecter, The Heatwave, Serocee, Junior Kelly, Kiko Bun, Inner Circle, Morgan Heritage and Tanya Stephens will be also making appearances.
Weighty Bass will be provided by Benny Page, Congo Natty, Channel One, Dj Zinc, Manchester’s Dub Phizix & Strategy, Bristol’s Jus Now and a history making DJ Hype b2b DJ Hazard for a jump up frenzy. House lovers will be satisfied with B-Traits, Chris Lorenzo, Skream, Derrick Carter, Friend Within, Jackmaster and more.
