Early life of Radha Charan Gupta. Gupta graduated from the University of Lucknow, where he made his bachelor's degree in 1955 and his master's degree in 1957.He earned his Ph.D. in the history of mathematics from Ranchi University in 1971. He did his dissertation work at Ranchi University with the historian of Indian mathematics T.A. Sarasvati Amma.Then he served as a lecturer at Lucknow In mathematics, Bhaskara I's sine approximation formula is a rational expression in one variable for the computation of the approximate values of the trigonometric sines discovered by Bhaskara I (c. 600 - c. 680), a seventh-century Indian mathematician. This formula is given in his treatise titled Mahabhaskariya.It is not known how Bhaskara I arrived at his approximation formula. Kamalakara (1616-1700), an Indian astronomer and mathematician, came from a learned family of scholars from Golagrāma, a village situated in Maharashtra State near Partha-puri (Pathari) on the northern bank of the river Godāvarī.
