Ziggy Marley & Burning Spear
Light Up San Diego with a Night of Reggae Roots & Bright Vibes!

Opening with Roots Fire: Burning Spear
Sets the Tone
The night kicked off with the legendary Winston Rodney, better known as Burning Spear. At 81 years young, Spear brought decades of deep roots reggae wisdom to the stage
His set was a meditative journey through classics and signature grooves, blending chant-like vocals, hypnotic rhythms, and messages of unity, self-determination, and praise. Burning Spear kept the crowd moving and the spirit high—proving why he remains a cornerstone of Jamaican music

Ziggy released his stunning new studio album Brightside in April—his first standard release album in eight years, which he co-produced with brother Stephen Marley
The Brightside album features collaborations with Trombone Shorty, Sheila E., Nikka Costa, and Jake Shimabukuro. It’s a vibrant, uplifting collection that blends reggae with funk, blues, and rock influences while staying true to the Marley legacy

Ziggy’s performance was electric. He powered through new tracks from Brightside (including the title song and standouts like “Many Mourn For Bob”), alongside timeless favorites from his own catalog and Bob Marley classics
