New York, NY- VP Records is proud to present Beres Hammond’s new studio album,
“Never Ending” out October 12th. Fresh off a successful, sold out U.S. Summer Tour with appearances at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica and Rototom in Spain, the legendary lovers rock crooner has introduced the world to his new project with two singles. “I’m Alive” and “Land of Sunshine” both available on YouTube and SoundCloud, with music videos soon to follow. He will also be celebrating the release with appearances in Florida and New York.
On his new album, Beres carries on the grand tradition of a romantic balladeer with sensitivity and swagger. “Never Ending” features 14 songs about love and life, in collaboration with longtime recording studio partners; Willie Lindo, Kirk Bennett, Handel Tucker, Errol ‘Flabba’ Carter, Leroy & David Heywood aka “Mafia & Fluxy,” Winston ‘Bopee’ Bowen, Dean Fraser and Robbie Lyn among others. “Never Ending” presents 21st century classics from the master of romance and reggae.
First single, “I’m Alive” is a 21st century 'roots' track. With Beres singing praises for life's simple and essential joys. Second single, “Land of Sunshine,” an ode to Jamaica, is a classic Beres production with smooth harmonies, jazzy instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics.
Many other topics are explored on “Never Ending” but one topic that Beres has proven to be an expert of, given his many years in the business, is love. There is no shortage of love songs on this project and the lineup is sure to garner a new favorite or two for fans of Beres’ classic catalog. “My specialty is a love song and how important is a love song?” asks Beres, who answers “I will tell you how important a love song is, I sing one love song and it touches a woman, she’s happy, her gentleman comes home and the joy that she is feeling makes him happy, so mom and dad are happy and then the children, they come home and they are happy and before you know it, the whole family is happy and all because of one love song.” Simply put, a love song by Beres is powerful enough to not only make, but keep a family home happy. This is evident in many Beres hits, past and present.
An icon in Lovers Rock/Reggae music, Beres has been called a cross between Kenny Rodgers and Al Green - a story teller and a lover. Helping form the foundation for his mellow, bluesy delivery, Beres grew up listening to American soul and pop music from Stax, Motown and other vintage sounds. Through the years, the influence of Beres' music with other singers, including Buju Banton, Shaggy, Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin and
Rihanna shows the enduring power of his music.
Beres Hammond and VP Records will celebrate the release with three in store meet and greet appearances beginning Saturday October 13th at VP Records in Miramar FL at 6022 SW 21st St, FL 33023. He will then do a Today at Apple where he will be having an intimate conversation about his new album on Tuesday October 16th at the
Apple Store Soho. He will conclude his meet and greets at the VP Retail Store in Jamaica, NY at 170-21 Jamaica Ave, NY 11432.
“We're very excited to be releasing the Beres album" said Christopher Chin, CEO of VP Records, "I believe it could be one of his best records yet.”
