Morgan Heritage on winning the Grammy

And the Grammy goes to Morgan Heritage for Strictly Roots!

Yes, rasta! Congratulations to Morgan Heritage! After 20 years together, "the royal family of reggae" has finally been recognized with their first Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for Strictly Roots.
Formed in 1994, the five children of famed reggae artist Denroy Morgan make up this gifted group ~ Peetah Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy "Gramps" Morgan, Nakhamyah "Lukes" Morgan and Memmalatel "Mr. Mojo" Morgan.

After a very busy 2015, that included not only the promotional tour for this project, but also a spot on the line-up of the Marley family's Catch A Fire Tour and Damian Marley's Welcome to Jamrock Cruise, there has been no slowing down for this multi-talented family of siblings! Not only are they maintaining a busy schedule together as a band, but they also have individual endeavors and families back home. In addition, they have made several tour trips to Africa maintaining a large fan base in Kenya, Nairobi, Uganda and Zimbabwe. This is a long overdue recognition for one of the hardest working bands in the industry. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to see so many live performances in support of this album throughout 2015.

The 58th Grammy Awards took place last night at the Nokia Theater L.A and Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
