2014 TOP 20 RIDDIMS
Dancehall music continues to shine and grow worldwide despite naysayers and prophets of doom writing off the genre at any given opportunity.
The life sentence handed to the much acclaimed and outrageously talented, Vybz Kartel, earlier in the year did little to dampen the mood amongst the fans as i-Octane, Alkaline, Demarco, Mavado, Agent Sasco etc continued churning out big tunes. Dancehall legends Beenie & Bounty teamed up for the first time ever in their illustrious careers which in itself is a feat to make 2014 a glorious year.
Sting is a few weeks away and as expected, the war machinery is in full gear. Gage, Masicka, Ryno have released a slew of dis songs aimed at their adversaries which include heavyweights like Alkaline, Demarco and dethroned clash king, Kiprich. JamWorld will surely ignite when Kipo faces Ryno in a rematch of last year's "finale" come the 31st edition of Liaing's annual show.
Back to the business of the day, we have listed riddims we feel have rocked the year 2014 in the dancehall, particularly the South African dancehall where we have first hand experience of what the massive likes.
