The results of this survey highlight the need for education regarding routine pelvic examinations for the detection of the following conditions: gynecologic The Task Force recommends not performing a screening pelvic examination to screen for noncervical cancer, pelvic inflammatory disease, or other gynecological The American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians do not recommend performing screening pelvic examinations in asymptomatic womenIt is recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists that pelvic examinations be performed when indicated by medical history or symptoms The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends women have pelvic exams only when they have symptoms or have a medical history that based recommendations for pelvic examination in adult women. (18 years and older) both with and without gynaecologic symptoms.
