The Quick Guide to Hearts of Iron 3 Series! Below are the series of guides I have written for Hearts of Iron 3, intended for new players looking to get immediately into the game. The intent is to explain in a concise manner some of the more confusing aspects, while also providing examples that will prove useful when using any unit, or playing I was sitting working on the mod and I thought why not make one. The construction speed modifiers range between -70% and +65% and except for the lowest two modifiers, they all have multiple combinations to be achieved. In fact, there are 320 possible combinations of variables affecting Civilian Factory construction speed outside of national spirits and unique laws. This is the list of ideas that the country starts with in the game, including national spirits, design companies, and laws. Ideas are defined in /Hearts of Iron IV/common/ideas. If starting laws aren't defined, then the country will start with the laws of Volunteer Only, Export Focus, and Civilian Economy . Historical OOB meets HOI3 Division Builder You should not use this as a guide when comparing the Strength value of a division, the two are not very well correlated. Ingore it. - AA: It does not look like AA needs to be part of a division to be effective. Air to Ground combat is fought on a Wing vs Brigade level. What is an OOB? [edit | edit source]An OOB, or Order of Battle, is what the game uses in order to load units and create starting production. It can be found in /Hearts of Iron IV/history/units.In order for the game to load the oob, you must add oob = "" to your countries history file found in /Hearts of Iron IV/history/countries.The quote must be the same as the file name, so for example oob After watching many videos of the devs playing hoi4 I am not a big fan of the new OOB. Not only are many customizations options are gone (u could have 5 different levels of OOB in hoi3 and each with a different leader trait bonuses and bonuses accourding to the leader level and the level the HQ was in) but it also seems rather messy. I saw in a video a french army that owned over 50 divisions. This is the first one, and is a guide to setting up your OOB, or order of battle, which is how each of your units are connected to each other. The guide will explain it better than that :) This is the guide to army composition, which is how you should design your units when building them. This is the guide to land combat, offence and defence. The main problem with the HOI3 OOB mechanic was that the AI could never keep its divisions and HQs in range, while the human player could (with sufficient micromanagement, including reassignment of divisions, as necessary). This meant that the HOI3 OOB buffs were, for the most part, human player-only buffs. Modding, or creating mods, is the act of modifying the behavior of the base game (often referred to as vanilla ), either for personal use, or to release publicly for other players, for instance - via the Steam Workshop . As for all Paradox games, Hearts of Iron IV is moddable to a great extent. HoI3 isn't easy game. And BICE made it even harder, with Eastern Front difficulty boosted even more. Sometimes You just need help or push in right direction. So this will be as much general guide for Germany as explanation of everything that I did to bring SU down in less than 5 months. Our main goal is beating Soviet Union.
